Definition of Leverage

Jan 9, 2023

I suspect many of us are confused about what, exactly, leverage is. I really like this definition: “Leverage is spending YOUR money to buy back YOUR time.”

So I ask, where are you currently spending time that you would be better served spending money instead? The very first place to look is in housekeeping. I mean, seriously. There is absolutely no reason you should clean your own house. Someone else, trained in cleaning, will do a better job faster. Then you can take that time and either use it on money-making activities or (gasp!) goof off. Yes, I said it! You should have goof-off time. We all need it.

When it comes to real estate, where are you spending time instead of money? I bet Transaction Coordination might be on that list. For most of us, we got into real estate because we aren’t necessarily all that great with deadlines and details. So why not hire a professional who can make sure you don’t miss any details or deadlines? And it’s crazy affordable in most places! Again, then you can spend your time focused on the customer experience rather than the details of deadlines.

This week, take a moment to look for just one place you can start adding some leverage to your world. I promise, it’s worth it!
